Yes, exactly. I think – expressed more clearly in my piece on Tesla Powerwall – it has every possibility of that (hence my possibly very UK-specific line about JG Ballard and Felicity Kendall.) But a) it needn’t be that way, if handled well with good urban policy, and b) the previous approach of city-making has its own massive problems. Hence my interest. But it comes down to good urban policy either way. There’s none of that in the US, but possibilities elsewhere I think. It’s fair to say that we don’t know what this looks like yet, but it needn't tend towards NIMBY with an active hand on the tiller.
